PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Anschütz NP2015 is part of the legendary 20X5 series, developed to provide superior course-keeping while significantly reducing rudder activity. It is an adaptive autopilot, meaning it "learns" the vessel’s characteristics and the sea state, automatically adjusting the rudder response to minimize fuel consumption and mechanical wear.
The system is highly modular, typically consisting of the NP2015 Operator Unit (Type 102-886) and a separate Connection Unit (Type 102-885). It is designed to meet all IMO standards and is approved for use on everything from standard cargo vessels to High-Speed Craft (HSC). Its intuitive interface, featuring a large digital heading display and clear bar graphs for rudder demand, makes it a favorite among bridge officers for its ease of use during manual and automatic steering.

KEY FEATURES & APPLICATIONS
-- Weather Adaptivity: Automatically adjusts the "Yawing" and "Rudder" parameters based on sea conditions to prevent unnecessary steering action in heavy swells.
-- Course Control Mode: Unlike basic heading control, this mode compensates for wind and current drift automatically, keeping the vessel on a precise Course Over Ground (COG).
-- High-Speed Approval: Tested and certified for High-Speed Craft (HSC), ensuring rapid and accurate rudder response at speeds up to 70 knots.
-- Integrated Rudder Plotter: Provides a graphical representation of heading changes versus rudder activity, allowing the operator to fine-tune the pilot for maximum fuel efficiency.
-- Modular Interface: The separate Connection Unit allows for easy integration with different types of steering gears, including solenoids and analog valves.
-- Dual-System Support: Can be easily configured as part of a redundant autopilot system for vessels requiring high safety standards (e.g., tankers or passenger ships).
TYPICAL CONDITION (USED/REFURBISHED)
Refurbished NP2015 units sourced from the Alang/Bhavnagar yards are highly valued. During our inspection, we verify the integrity of the NB06-182 PCB inside the connection unit and test the LCD/LED segments of the operator unit for clarity. Each unit undergoes a simulator test to ensure it correctly processes NMEA/Course Bus data and triggers the steering solenoids without delay. We also check the tactile buttons and the heading-set knob for smooth, precise operation.
