PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Koden KAT-100 features a high-contrast 3.5-inch monochrome LCD display and is fully compliant with IMO and IEC standards for Class A AIS. Unlike Class B units, the KAT-100 transmits at a powerful 12.5 Watts and utilizes SOTDMA technology to prioritize position reporting in high-density traffic areas. It is designed to provide real-time situational awareness by displaying the position, speed, heading, and ship-specific information of all AIS-equipped targets within VHF range.

The system is a "self-contained" unit, integrating the VHF transmitter, dual TDMA receivers, a 70-channel DSC receiver, and a high-sensitivity GPS sensor within a single rugged housing. It is engineered to feed precise target data to the ship's Radar and ECDIS via NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000. Its tactical numeric keypad and dedicated "Target List" allow the officer of the watch to quickly assess collision risks and communicate with nearby vessels via the integrated pilot plug or VHF.

Our refurbished Koden KAT-100 units from the Alang recycling yards undergo a strict "RF Performance Audit." We focus on the VHF Transceiver power output, ensuring a stable 12.5W signal for long-range reporting. The tactile membrane keypad is tested for responsiveness, and the LCD backlight is checked for uniformity. We also perform a software reset to ensure the MMSI and ship data can be re-programmed for your specific vessel. Every unit is factory-reset at our Bhavnagar facility.
